The scripture shows that the purpose, activity and concerns of the early Christian leaders were always that the Church may grow. There is obvious need for the same attitude, spirit, and commitment today. Our goal is to build a kind of congregation life which will help us to come to grips with the task of strengthening one another. The essential activites of this congregation are to...
- Make disciples for Christ
- Develop a thorough and ongoing education program
- Cultivate an awareness of fellow members
- Develop mutual care in the homes
- Teach members to pray for one another
- Aim for prevention more than cure
- Realize that strengthening the brethren touches the whole congregations' life
The New Original Church of God in Christ came into existence in December of 1981, following the dissolution of the Original Church of God in Christ. The decision to dissolve the Original Church and reorganize as a new church was occasioned by the retirement of the late Elder Thomas Jackson, Sr.
The reorganization brought an invigorating new challenge through evangelism. God has continued to bless New Original Church of God in Christ with people excited about their faith and eager to share it. Further, He has given us a continued pattern for growth--both numerically and spiritually.
"Let this be written for a future generation that a people not yet created may praise God."
As the Shepherd of New Original Church of God in Christ, I would like to leave with you several points which have helped us grow for the past twenty years.
First, our method has been very simple: We inquire of the Lord as to our mission; pray for insight and direction; take action do what is our work in the vineyard.
Secondly, we ask ourselves the questions of "How can we help this generation and the ones that follow it to value the church?"... "How can we impart to young people what is right, so that God can bless them and their children, and their children's children." The process is that we must uphold the value of our church, and, make it known that each person, young and aged, male and female is precious and equal in the sight of God.

Thirdly, the quality of relationships between the departments and committees in our church is central to enhancing the quality of our ministry. This relationship as I see it is the willingness and readiness of the membership to solve problems.
The most profound challenge facing this church in the immediate future is its ability to be flexible in the face of deeply rooted changes that are altering the image of our church.
The best effective way to change a system is to change yourself. When you do This, your system will respond to your change.
In the years ahead, our congregational eadership must make a commitment to involve as many of God's gifted people as possible in the ministry of This church.
